Las Vegas Local Bar – PT’s Centennial and Losee

There are a ton of PT’s around town so I am not reviewing the chain or the brand or any of that, just this location in particular. While it’s a nice, building and interior, I can’t help but comment on the smell when I first walked in and continued to be bothered by during my stay. There were a lot of people in the bar, so it obviously wasn’t bad enough to keep people away, but it definitely caused me to shorten my stay. If you want to be a top local bar in Las Vegas these are things that need to be addressed first off. Anyway. . .

But here you have an excellent example of how a bar should be laid out. Plenty big and plenty of room, but set up still for a cozy comfortable feeling. The décor is well, really nice for lack of a better way to describe it. Very smart and appealing to the eye. It really has an upscale feel to it but no air of superiority.

While there are sometimes some variance at PT’s this place has the perfect lighting, perfect music volume (kudos for not playing classic rock) and perfect ceiling height. I really like how the pool area is sort of set off in its own area. So you don’t feel like you’re in a pool hall, so you can keep the upscale feel of a local tavern but still have the option to go shoot some pool.

I don’t specifically care for the food here, it is bland, overpriced and mediocre for my tastes, but I saw a lot of people ordering and enjoying their food so I recommend you make your own judgement on the food. However, one thing is for sure, chicken wings should not be breaded. Carb avoiders have only 2 or 3 things to order on the menu as it is and when you go and put breading on the chicken wings, that’s just a crime.

As far a local nightlife this place is gonna be on the upper side of nightlife fun in the area. You are going to have a cozy, comfortable setting with well trained staff and a good crowd of people enjoying the evening. One of the things I really like about the way this bar is laid out is most of the seats at the bar don’t feel like you are sitting with your back to the door. Of the about 20 to 25 seats at the bar, I would only feel uncomfortable at 2 or 3 of them. I mention this because the majority of people I speak to have the same preference to bar seating. Nothing worse than walking into a bar with a good vibe, good music and so forth but the only seats left have the front door right at your back.

Local Bar Summary

Anyway, this location definitely makes my list of local nightlife locations for the area, and for the area I suppose if you are looking for a good local bar in Las Vegas, this place will suffice. I especially like how there are a bunch of little nooks and crannies in this place to post up and hang out if you don’t necessarily care to hang out at the bar. Sometimes, you just want to stand up and stretch your legs while you’re hanging out, and many of the bars in Las Vegas aren’t necessarily set up for this since they are set up for gaming and just moving the massive chairs out of the way can make things difficult.

Other than the gaming and the pool tables there isn’t much to do in this place. It seems like they have a lot of space dedicated as restaurant seating that goes unused most of the time. Might be wise to re-purpose some of that space for activities to raise their “local nightlife score” but other than that, this place does pretty well.
